Great Mission:Love

I wasn't prepared. I WAS NOT PREPARED!!

So mayhaps an hour or so ago my twitter timeline BLEW UP! One minute i'm watching vines of Dylan O'Brien being an attractive little nugget and then BOOM... Action Item is BACK!! WHAT?!?!
They went all Queen Bey on us and dropped the second part of their album, Great Mission: Love

If you don't know, for the past 4 years (in June) Action Item have been such an important part of my life. I've been taking their disappearance from Earth basically, pretty hard. Needless to say I was a little hesitant to give this a listen but then they kicked me in my emotions and dropped a video for their song "Numbered Days" made of clips from their old videos *grabs tissues and ugly cries*

Anywho I caved, Kayla (who is a true homie) sent me the download link, and here we are... I figured that I would review Great Mission: Love as I listen. There's a storm going on outside so the atmosphere is PERF!!

So we start off with "Coffee" which is an instrumental intro. It's short, sweet and sets the mood.... that escalated quickly. It reminds me of rain... is that weird?

Next is "Numbered Days" You can NOT tell me that this song wasn't inspired by TFIOS. "We'll find forever in these numbered days" I'm... sobbing!! I was already emotional because of the video...This song is so beautiful. Even if it wasn't giving me all of the Hazel/Gus feels the message of loving in the moment would have me choked up!

Alrighty! I've dried my tears and I've moved on to "Focus". THIS SONG REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT. It's got an 80's esque beat.... HAIM! THIS REMINDS ME OF THE WIRE BY HAIM! it's going to take me a while to learn this song... the chorus is a mouthful! Good on ya Caggy! I dig this song so much! It's fun!

Lastly is "Way Back Home"! Another upbeat tune that in true AI fashion is about missing the people and places that are home! This is the kind of song that I just want to clap and flail obnoxiously to! It makes me want a banjo...*shrugs*

Well there it is folks... my now 2am, scatterbrained review of Great Mission: Love. I am really, REALLY impressed with this ep. I love Action Item's current sound and I'm quite proud of how far they've come ... Musically AND lyrically. Definitely give it a listen. you can pick it up here http://t.co/1u1RFlJ0jA
I'm going to go listen to "Numbered Days" on repeat until I die now!

Soooo tour soon??

xoxo
